![]() IMCA IS A COOPERATIVE CREATED BY INDEPENDENT MOVING PROFESSIONALS FOR INDEPENDENT MOVING PROFESSIONALS The Independent Movers COOP of America is a member owned cooperative with an elected board of moving professionals chosen by their peers. IMCA is comprised of a team of professionals ranging from moving companies, estimators, lawyers, CPA’s, human resources, purchasing, engineers, insurance, collections and web/marketing professionals. The basis of our operational network depends on the ability to successfully book and transport goods. With this in mind, all parties involved have a part in the success of each opportunity given to us. IMCA connects independents so they can give or take tonnage and both derive benefit. With IMCA, hauling companies can access experienced and insured labor from other members. Of course it takes you, the independent mover, to be involved. With more IMCA members, the opportunities grow. How about a local mover with a large commercial job, but who needs extra equipment and labor? Being an IMCA member opens up the possibility of available equipment by leveraging the resources of other members.
IMCA is committed to maintaining quality service in today’s ever-changing marketplace. We can work together, share tonnage, utilize member drivers only on intrastate hauls, and access other IMCA company employees for cost-effective labor. Sharing our knowledge through training literature and DVDs helps lower claims. We will find the most efficient ways to operate and standardize these techniques. We will help members avoid making costly mistakes by relying on professional service providers who already know our industry. We can all save time and improve efficiency by using IMCA standard documentation when applicable. ![]() "It’s time to start healing our industry from within, keep our commitment to quality and increase our bottom line." As a member of IMCA, you have more purchasing power. You’ll enjoy discounted insurance rates on cargo, warehousing and workers’ comp to name a few. Advertising and better Internet marketing will give you more exposure. Yellow Pages rates could be negotiated more advantageously. Membership produces savings on equipment, trucks, pads, and dollies. Your company can also realize savings by using our standardized documentation where applicable—Bills of Lading, inventories, software, and more. From one end of our operations to the other, the strength of our networking will make your dollar go farther. We have the ability to help each other in so many ways. It will take a strong team of experts and specialized professionals to coordinate our efforts so that we can remain competitive and profitable. Cutting costs from group purchasing to sharing loads to keeping our trucks full and income-producing, and by following AMSA concerns and IMCA principles, not only can we remain competitive but also strengthen the quality of service. Working together for a common cause will help strengthen our industry and give us the power of networking. As a unified team of movers supporting and working with other movers, we can accomplish far more than as individuals. The IMCA network is designed to incorporate all moving companies and individuals to enhance performance and capabilities. The network recruits, trains, and coordinates self-employed individuals or independent businesses for the common goal of providing continued quality service, in today’s ever-changing marketplace. |
